Job Summary
To provide technical support to plant operations with the ultimate goal of improving performance, efficiency, and long-term profitability
Responsible for the development of the necessary system, tools, and procedures for plant optimization and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
Plays a role in safety Health and Environment commitment and demonstrates ownership.
Ensure compliance with Holcim, Health and Safety standards, and advisories of the process department and generally in the plant.
Conducts plant performance evaluation and technical audit to optimize productivity and attain stability.
Monitors the process performance of the entire plant on a day-to-day basis and defines corrective actions as well as implements them targeted to achieve the desired product.
Defines production conditions, process parameters, and operating procedures for new or modified installations to achieve the project’s stated objectives
Works/liaise with experts on related process matters, new technologies, and best practices and leads the implementation of selected projects aimed at modifying existing systems to make them safer, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly
Regularly monitors the parameters relating to the plant operation to determine the accuracy of the sensors to guarantee reliable operational data
Carries out process inspections on major equipment to know their internal status, capture, and identify correctives and preventive actions for sustainable equipment reliability and follow-up implementation.
Perform proper field measurements aimed at providing critical data necessary for process characteristics and troubleshooting.
Prepare written and oral reports on the work undertaken clearly and concisely ensuring data availability to another department.
To give support and implement the group environment’s policy.
Education & Experience
Degree in Chemical / Process Engineering
A minimum of 2 years of working experience in a cement plant or related industry.
Good knowledge of cement manufacturing processes: raw meal preparation to cement storage and despatch.
Good knowledge of Statistical process control methods and experimental design.
Good understanding of industrial control loops and operational logic necessary for effective troubleshooting strategies
Working understanding of all the Lafarge Operational and Governance Safety Standards and Advisories, be trained (internally) on coal shop safety, Inert gas generator operation, and monetization process, and concerning the Emergency Response plan be a First Aider, Fire hydrant operator, and be able to perform WAH and CONFINED space rescue.

2). Automation / Instrumentation Technician

Job Summary
Responsible for routine maintenance of all instruments and automation equipment. Monitor and report spare availability and consumption patterns to avoid nil-stock for all spare parts.
Carry out Minor modifications to support the production process and recommend replacement for obsolete spares.
Main Responsibilities
Work with process control systems including programmable logic controllers, sensors, and actuators
Consult manuals, read and interpret circuit diagrams and schematics for installed instrumentation and automation equipment
Repair and adjust system components or remove and replace defective parts
Installing control and measurement instruments on existing or new plant equipment
Inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments
Repair and adjust system components such as sensors, transmitters, and programmable logic controllers or remove and replace defective parts
Maintenance of both analog and digital field instruments such as level, pressure, position, limit, speed, temperature, flow, and weight sensors, actuators, and gas analyzers
Calibrate field instruments such as weigh feeders, belt scales, as well as level pressure, temperature transmitters, and flow meters according to manufacturers’ specifications or business best practices.

Level of Education:
HND / B.Sc in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or Physics as the main subject).
Skills:

Main Activities / Responsibilities
Responsible for the execution of maintenance work carried out on mechanical equipment in the plant with proper feedback to the Sectional Engineer
