After submission of your admissions application, you will receive an automatic consideration of various merit scholarships.

The Presidential Scholarship, however, requires a separate application.

Your eligibility for scholarships is based on your academic achievements indicated in your admission application, rather than your family’s financial need.

International students who qualify for scholarships are expected to demonstrate the ability to cover a significant portion of their education costs, including those aspiring to receive the Presidential Scholarship.

If you are awarded a merit scholarship, you will receive a notification along with your admissions decision.

Scholarship Duration and Reward

Successful candidates will have the resources and opportunities to deeply explore their interests.

The scholarship covers tuition, room, and board for four years, with renewal contingent on maintaining a strong academic record throughout each undergraduate year.

Method of Application

If you’re interested in the Presidential Scholarship, simply select that option when completing the Common Application (available after August 1).

You’ll receive detailed information, including the topics of the two short essays required for the scholarship application.

The final essay submission deadline is February 1, applicable to Early Action, Early Decision, and Regular Decision candidates.

Students selected for an interview will be notified in March. The Admissions Committee chooses finalists based on their admission applications and other established criteria.

Last year, over 450 scholarship applications were reviewed from the U.S. and around the world, leading to 15 finalists being invited for interviews.

Five of those finalists were awarded the scholarship and joined the incoming class. Typically, one or two international students receive this award annually.
