CRS has been supporting program activities in Nigeria for over 30 years and has long-standing relationships with Church and non-Church partners and communities throughout the country.

The Nigeria country program has a diverse funding base with projects in health, nutrition, food security and agricultural livelihoods, microfinance (SILC), emergency response, and peacebuilding.

CRS Staffs

CRS/Nigeria currently has over 210 national and eight international staff.

With an FY22 annual budget of over USD 100 million, together with strong donor interest in supporting CRSâ work in the country, significant growth opportunities exist for the CP.

The CP has been supporting emergency activities in the NE states since 2015 with offices in Damaturu, Maiduguri, and Yola.

About Project Improved ALERTS and Sokoto Response Project;

CRS seeks to continue working in Gubio, Kaga, and Magumeri, leveraging the experiences and gains of CRII in targeting vulnerable HH to address the multi-faceted and inter-sectoral drivers of food insecurity and poor nutrition through the integration of food security, WASH, and nutrition interventions.

This program will provide timely support to vulnerable HHs affected by the ongoing conflict in NE Nigeria that will save lives and restore dignity.

While in Sokoto State;

The organization is implementing the Latter-Day Saints Charities (LSDC) funded Food Security and Nutrition Response (Kyautata Rayuwa) project.

The project is assisting 12,951 vulnerable people (2,158 households) by increasing food security and nutrition for IDPs, returnees, and host community households.

And other vulnerable groups through emergency food assistance, nutrition, and livelihood development.

Job Summary:Â

The Communications and Graphics Design Officer will work closely with the CRS Country Program Communications Coordinator and support both the Improved ALERTS and Kyautata Rayuwa Project.

He/She will create content and ensure strategic alignment of communications, consistent messaging, and a strong brand identity for the projects.

He/She will use effective communication channels to reach the project stakeholders, including the participants, government, media, and the donor.

Key tasks;

This would include developing stories, designing communications materials, multimedia, and reports as required, as well as ensuring CRSâ’s compliance with donor branding and marking requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Write, design, and manage the production of creative and compelling communication materials stories, photos, videos, factsheets, banners, posters, etc.

For various audiences, including the community and state governments, local Churches, partners, media, and others as needed.

Support the coordination and implementation of all assigned project activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.

Disseminate Information

The dissemination of relevant information among personnel, partners, and project participants or other relevant actors related to the project.

Render Support

Also, support the project team to learn from and demonstrate the impact of our work including contributing to learning processes for all the project sector areas.

And the country program by the new MEAL Policies and Procedures (MPP 4.0) Complete project documentation for assigned activities.

Assist with identifying information for case studies and reports on best practices.

Communication Support

Provide communications support for events, in line with the Project stakeholder communication plan.

Including banners, handouts, talking points, photos, liaising with media, etc., and convening local media whenever a project event takes place.

Help in the creation of processes, manuals, and training for project staff and partners on issues related to communications, learning, and impact documentation.

Research Studies

Communicate findings of research studies and learning reviews through reports, case studies, impact stories, and presentations.

Experience

Minimum two years of marketing and communication experience, ideally for an NGO or another organization in development and relief programming.

Excellent English language oral and written communication skills are required. Individuals must possess the ability to influence without direct authority.

Ability and desire to work well with diverse employees, partners, media, and vendors in a cooperative and friendly manner.

Must possess the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Positive Track Record

Demonstrated track record of successfully disseminating information to a variety of target audiences.

Local travel is required. High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and desktop publishing skills is required.

Experience in using various design software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop, lightroom, and InDesign) is strongly desired. Agency-wide Competencies (for all CRS Staff).
